![]() Trello is one of the best options out there when it comes to managing simpler projects. The main question this Trello project management review strives to answer is whether this Kanban board app is any good for managing projects. Hopefully, it'll help you decide whether the platform's downsides are a dealbreaker or its pros are worth overlooking the drawbacks. This Trello review will dive deep into the core of the Kanban board app. You've stumbled upon Trello but aren't 100% sure it's the right tool for you. Thanks for being responsive and caring about your customers. You're on the hunt for the best task management tool out there that will help you accomplish your project objectives. How to make a tier that attracts personal/family users without businesses taking advantage of the lower priced tier even if they have the money for the business offerings. To be fair, I think that use case scenario is something that many productivity platforms struggle with regarding pricing. I guess I will just have to hold off migrating back to trello for a while and see what's the outcome of the Standard tier trial is □Īnd. That's why I was excited that standard looked like something more fitting but I found it hard to see how it differed. $40 is harder to justify in that scenario. The issue is if I want to use it with my wife and kids as well to plan our weeks. I think $10 for BC is an OK price for a personal productivity app. Looking to get back into trello as my main tool as the new features made me excited. Yeah, I have paid for business class in the past when I had a bigger need for it. Customers that could choose Trello if these well needed new features are available for a lower monthly cost. In the end, I agree with your statement: what is the total bill and how much is it? I am not asking that all new features are included for free users but would rather point to the void that exists between the free tier and business class for individual users and small teams. Instead it seems that most new features are being added for business class only. I would rather see things like number of automation runs, added security layers and admin options being what defines a business class offering. ![]() And these are functions that are usually available in competing project management apps in the free tier. I think where I disagree is that some functions that comes only to business class at this point (like the view of multiple boards) is something that I see useful for individuals/families/SMEs as well. I agree on the premise of paying for the more premium features. If it isn’t then you could still collaborate with them in a free workspace. Then second I think you’d have to look at that total and decide if it’s worth it. So in your family example, I think first you’d have to decide “are these people that I need to collaborate with on more than one board? Do I want them to get value from paid features?” If so, then you’d have to pay for them. I think generally the question of “should I pay?” is a question of “what is the total bill and how much is it?” I don’t think it should be “well I don’t want to pay for those people, but I still want them to get all the paid features” which seems at odds with “this app charges per user that I collaborate with” ![]() We also have a carve out that you can make a free space to collaborate with people (even if you are also paid) where you don’t have to pay for those people - but the paid features won’t (and shouldn’t) show up there. We have a carve out where if you only collaborate on one board then you don’t have to pay for them. I think the premise of paying for people you collaborate with and those that make use of paid features is generally a common way of charging for software. It’s hard for me to know whY that sentiment exists without talking about specific cases. It's just during the transition that it gets complicated).Īnyway, none of this is related to Gold currently. In a few months, we will ship code that helps people do this, but eventually all boards will be in a Workspace (and then tbh you can forget about Workspaces if you never need them - when a new person signs up for Trello they probably won't even have to know anything about this. You can just make a Team/Workspace called "My Workspace" for example and move your boards there. In the move to Workspaces, all boards will need to be in a Workspace and what we have been calling Teams will be called Workspaces. You can still make any board "Private" - it's a visibility setting. (They weren't actually personal, you could add anyone to them). The Personal was just a name for "not assigned to a team". What you are thinking of as "Personal" boards are actually Private boards with no explicit Team associated with them. Airtable or Google Tables or Figma etc etc). We are moving to a model where all boards are in a Workspace (like other apps e.g.
